Mr. Udit Bokaria, Analyst, Goldman Sachs (2014 Batch, Gold Medalist) – August 8, 2015

Udit Bokaria held a session for the first year PGP participants on effective resume building. Walking them through a sample resume he explained how to structure sentences to make maximum impact on the mind of the recruiter. Udit also shared tips with the participants on how to ace a finance interview and perform well in a group discussion.

Mr. Amit Murarka, Equity Research Analyst, Deutsche Bank (2007 Batch) – December 9th 2014

As a unique initiative by the Industry Interaction Cell in association with the Alumni Committee, branded as Alum Mantra, Mr. Amit Murarka held a knowledge transfer session for finance aspirants over Skype where job profiles and roles in the finance domain was explored. A lot of students had queries about the importance of networking, market conditions and other external factors affecting jobs in the finance domain which were answered by Mr. Murarka.

Ms. Gauri Kamat, Program Manager, Enactus – 25th of February 2014

Ms. Gauri Kamat, Program Manager, Enactus interacted with the students about the ‘Enactus Program’ on the 25th of February. Ms. Kamat is an alumnus of TISS (batch of 2006), and has 8 years of experience working in CSR activities. Enactus is an international organization that brings together students, business and educators who are committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to enable progress around the world. Some of the Educational Institutions that are a part of Enactus India are: FMS Delhi,  IIT Delhi, IIT Roopar, IIT Kanpur, Sri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), Loyola College, St. Stephens, Lady Sri Ram College (LSR).

Mr. C T Renganathan, VP Pharmaceuticals- Specialty Business, Glaxo SmithKline Pharmaceuticals (GSK).

C T Renganathan hails from Karaikudi in Madurai and has graduated in Chemistry from Madurai Kamaraj University. He has previously worked with Eli Lilly- another Global pharmaceutical company before joining GSK. The lecture comprised of a short presentation on Pharma Marketing and how a career in Pharmamarketing is one of the most exciting options in today’s world.

Mr. Arif Shiekh, CEO & ED, Entertainment World Developers (EWDPL) – 8th March 2013

Mr. Shiekh holds an MBA from UK, MEP from IIM A and has completed a specialized programme in strategic planning fromHarvard Business School. He has been working in the Retail Industry for more than 30 years in both domestic and international retail environments, including Walmart and Harrods.
He has won many awards like “Retail Icon” award by Asia Retail Congress in 2011, Asia Retail Best Speaker Award 2008, Excellence in leadership award from Global Retail Forum, Pantaloons/VM&RD Design Award 2006 and the much acclaimed Dubai Shopping Festival Best Retail Chain / CEO, ’99 Awards. He is one of the few speakers representing India at the Retail World Asia 2013 to be held in April at Singapore.
With a focus on Tier-2 cities, where he envisions a phenomenal growth in the retail industry, his company EWDPL has made strategic strides to expand all over India. Under his leadership, the company grew to control 4 wholly-owned malls in Indore (Treasure Island), Ujjain, Nanded and Raipur, with four more malls under construction. The Indore Central is a 50:50 JV between EWDPL and the Biyani-owned Future group.
Mr. Sheikh has a rich experience in the Retail Industry with stints in the USA and the UAE and at Walmart,Inc. Mr. Sheikh talked about his experiences in the industry and his life in general. Audience were given an introduction to the developing retail sector by the speaker. IIC also facilitated the interview of Mr.Arif Sheikh by the Management Canvas team which was published in the April issue.

Guest Talk by Mr. Unmesh Sharma, Associate Director, Macquarie Capital –  9th February 2013

Mr Unmesh Sharma delivered a talk on “Equity Research- The Framework and Thought Process for Analyzing Stocks”. He discussed about the structure of the institutional brokerage firm, business of sell-side equity research and equity business in general with the help of a small case study.
